Director: Ross Maciejewski
Ross Maciejewski is an associate professor of computer science and engineering in the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering in ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. His primary research interests are in the areas of geographical visualization and visual analytics focusing on homeland security, public health, dietary analysis, social media, criminal incident reports and the food-energy-water nexus. Maciejewski has served on the organizing committees for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Conference on Visual Analytics Science and Technology and the IEEE/Visualization and Graphics Technical Committee EuroVis Conference. He earned three bachelor’s degrees from the University of Missouri in computer science, computer engineering and electrical engineering, and holds both a Master of Science and a doctoral degree in computer engineering from Purdue University.
Chief Scientist: Pitu Mirchandani
Pitu Mirchandani is a professor of computer science and engineering in the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering, one the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. His research interests include optimization, decision-making systems, real-time control and logistics with an application focus on urban service systems, transportation and homeland security. He holds the AVNET Chair for Supply Chain Networks and is also a senior sustainability scientist within the Global Institute of Sustainability at ASU. Mirchandani received a Bachelor and Master of Science in engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles as well as a Master of Science in aeronautics and astronautics, and a Doctor of Science in operations research from MIT.
